Magnetization in 2D Materilas

We exfoliate 2D flakes in Si/SiO2 substrates and study their magnetization properties

Spin-Phonon Coupling in Semiconductor-Ferromagnet Heterostructures

Using RF sputtering and exfoliation, we prepare exhotic heterostructures of semiconductor/ferromagnet. We study room-temperature MOKE and RAMAN to study spin-phonon coupling and proximity effects.

Orbitronics in Light Metals

We have obtained a new grant (PMECRG) to study orbitronics in light metals like Ti, Al, V, etc. We will use RF sputtering, photo-lithography, MOKE, and Hall Effect to study and quantify the roles of light metals, which can later be used in energy-efficient spintronic devices.

Simulation of Ultrafast Dynamics

We use home-built micromagnetic simulations using UBERMAG (built on OOMMF) to study different cases of current-induced magnetization reversal in magnetic microstripes.
